Providence, Rhode Island - Brown junior goalie Jordan Burke (Potomac, MD) was named the Ivy League Player of the Week for the second time this season for leading the 14th-ranked Brown men's lacrosse team to its seventh straight win, 8-5, over Penn in Philadelphia.
Burke was spectacular in net for the Bears (8-2, 3-0 Ivy), frustrating the Quakers all day. He made eight saves in the first half, and turned aside 11 shots in the second half as Brown took control of the contest. With the game on the line in the fourth quarter, Penn rifled 18 shots at Burke, while he made five saves and allowed just one goal.
Burke, the nation's leader in goals against average (5.78) and save percentage (.707), was peppered with 57 shots as the Quakers out-shot the Bears by a 57-22 margin. He also leads the Ivy League with 13.5 saves per game.
