Jordan Burke Named Ivy League Player of the Week

Providence, Rhode Island - Brown senior goalie Jordan Burke (Potomac, MD) was named the Ivy League Player of the Week after making 20 saves in a 9-8 Brown victory over #13 UMass on Saturday. Burke, a second team All-American as a junior and first team pre-season All-American, was also the LAXnews National Player of the Week.

Burke, the 2008 Ivy League Player of the Year, made 12 first half saves, and came up with five big stops in the fourth quarter against the Minutemen. Three of his saves came in the last 27 seconds, including one as time expired.

Burke has picked up where he left off a year ago and leads the Ivy League in saves with 12.6 per game, while his .589 save percentage is second in the league.

A Commerce, Organizations and Entrepreneurship concentrator at Brown, Burke was recently selected as a candidate for the 2009 Lowe's Senior CLASS Award for achievement in the classroom, the community and on the playing field.
