Bears Return Home To Battle Bellarmine on Tuesday

Providence, Rhode Island - Following a 7-3 victory over Providence College on Saturday, the 19th ranked Brown men's lacrosse team will take on Bellarmine on Tuesday, March 13 at the Erickson Athletic Complex, beginning at 4:00 p.m.

The Records: Brown is ranked 19th in the Lax New weekly poll with a 2-1 overall record following its 7-3 victory over Providence College on Saturday. Bellarmine has posted a 1-3 record with losses to Maryland (11-6), Manhattan (8-7 2ot), and North Carolina (10-6), and a win over St. John's (12-11).

The Series Record: Brown and Bellarmine, located in Louisville, KY, have met once before, in 2006, with the Bears coming out on top of a 9-6 decision at the Erickson Athletic Complex.

PC Game Highlights: Sophomore Kyle Hollingsworth and freshman Thomas Muldoon scored two goals each to lead the 18th-ranked Brown men's lacrosse team to a 7-3 victory over cross-town Providence College on the Friars' campus.

Muldoon Earns Ivy Rookie of the Week Honors: Freshman attackman Thomas Muldoon was named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week for leading Brown to its first win over a ranked team in more than two years, a 7-6 victory over 14th-ranked Hofstra. Muldoon scored a game high three goals for the Bears, but none more important that his third goal of the game, late in the fourth quarter. With the score tied, 6-6, Muldoon delivered the game-winning goal with 3:38 remaining to play, sending Hofstra to it first loss of the season.

Bear Facts: Senior David Madeira saw action for the first time this season and scored Brown's first goal against Providence...Senior Alex Buckley's six points (4 goals, 2 assists) are tied for the team lead in scoring...Sophomore goalie Jordan Burke has posted a 6.99 goals against average and a .638 save percentage. He made nine saves against Providence on Saturday...Freshman defenseman Jake Hardy is second on the Brown team with 12 ground balls. Burke's 13 ground balls leads the Bears...Freshman Charlie Kenney won 7 of 9 face-offs against Providence...Seniors Alex Buckley, Bobby Shields, and David Madeira, are tri-captains of this tear's team.

About The Knights: Junior attackmen Adam Gardner and Ray Flanigan lead Bellarmine in scoring with sever goals each...Senior goalie J.C. Hutchens has started all four games for the Knights, posting a 10.60 goals against average and a .573 save percentage. He had a season high 14 saves vs. Maryland.

Head Coach Lars Tiffany: Bears' first year head coach Lars Tiffany is a 1990 Brown graduate and a two-year Brown lacrosse captain under then Brown coach Dom Starsia. He played on two Brown teams that earned NCAA Tournament berths and played in the North-South Senior All-Star Game. He comes to Brown after a two-year head coaching stint at Stony Brook.
