Brown Men's Lacrosse Team Announces Class of 2006

Brown men's lacrosse coach Scott Nelson has announced that eight outstanding high school players have committed to matriculate and play lacrosse at Brown University in the Fall of 2002. Here is Brown's lacrosse Class of 2006:
Rob Cotter New Canaan, CT Middlesex Defense 6-0, 180 Excellent cover and take-away defender...Can play long stick middie or close defense... Will be asked to face-off with the long stick....Also on the Middlesex hockey team. Team Captain.
Grant Derkac Virginia Beach, VA Norfolk Acad. Midfield 6-0, 175 Two-year starter in lacrosse...Captain of lacrosse team his senior year...Three-year starter in football...Captain of football team his senior year...Two-time all conference in football - jr. year: at QB, sr. year: at DB...Also lettered in track in soph. year...Lettered in basketball in jr. and sr. year...President of student council, member of honor council.
Ben Donoghue Bethesda, MD The Bullis School Midfield 6-0, 175 Maryland Free State Team member last summer...All IAC junior year...Bullis junior class athlete of the year...2X 2nd team all county (so. & jr.)...Hockey MVP...Football 3yr player...Camp All Star, Summer of 2001 (Top 205, Top Star).
Jim Faello Manhasset, NY Manhasset Defense 6-1, 205 Lacrosse: 2 1/2 year starter, Captain, All-conference in junior year...Football: LB, OG, FB, Captain, who played in Exceptional senior game on Thanksgiving Day, Made Golden 11 Team: 11/5000 high school football players in Nassau County. 22/10000 selected from all of Long Island...Also competes in shot-put and high jump on track team....Conference and County Champ in shot put. Broke school jr. record for shot put, 4th on all time list for school record.
Chris Kearney Lloyd Neck, NY Cold Spring Harbor Defense 6-3, 200 Skilled and athletic close defenseman...Very good speed. Has also played long stick middie in the past...Goalkeeper on soccer team, center on basketball team. Honor Roll Student-Athlete...Three-year varsity player in Lacrosse and Basketball and a two-year varsity goalkeeper for the Seahawks Soccer team...Captained the Cold Spring Harbor Soccer team in 2001 and was awarded the Ralph Whitney Class Player of the Year...Also earned a spot on the All-State Team, Newsday Long Island Team and Exceptional Senior Team... Three-year starter who earned All-County Honorable Mention honors as a Lacrosse defender in 2001 and was a member of the All-Academic Team.
