Final Stats

Hanover, New Hampshire - Sophomore attackman Andrew Feinberg scored a game high four goals as 14th-ranked Brown began the defense of its Ivy League Championship with a solid 14-8 victory against Dartmouth in an Ivy League men's lacrosse game Saturday afternoon. The win lifts the Bears to 5-1 overall, 1-0 in the Ivy League, while Dartmouth drops to 1-5, 0-1 in Ivy play.

Just one week ago, Feinberg was held in check in Brown's win over UMass. He would not be denied against the Big Green, scoring early and often en route to his four goals, one assist, performance.

Dartmouth jumped out to a 1-0 lead on Ari Sussman's goal with 7:41 left in the first quarter. The Big Green was short lived with Feinberg answering eight seconds later to spark a 4-0 Brown spurt that put the Bears in control, 4-1. Feinberg had two goals in the spurt with senior Nic Bell and Kyle Hollingsworth adding one each.

The second quarter was much of the same with the Bears building a 6-2 lead with 11:47 remaining following goals by junior Thomas Muldoon and Feinberg. The Big Green answered with a mini-rally, as Sussman and Dooley scored for Dartmouth to cut the Bears advantage to 6-4 with 8:19 left in the half.

Muldoon scored his second goal of the game with 5:45 to play in the quarter, but Jimmy Mullen answered for the Big Green just 20 seconds later to cut Brown's lead to 7-5.

Bell and Seligmann came through with goals at the end of the second quarter to give the Bears a 9-5 lead at the half.

The third quarter was all Brown, with Feinberg scoring his fourth goal and Seligmann adding his second goal to build an 11-5 lead heading into the fourth quarter.

Hollingsworth had a hand in seven of Brown's 14 goals, netting two goals and handing out five assists. Muldoon also had a big day for the Bears with two goals and three assists. Seligmann and Bell had two goals each, while Bears' senior Brady Williams scored a goal and handed out an assist.

Sussman and Dooley led the Big Green with two goals each.

Bears' senior All-American goalie Jordan Burke was solid in goal, making 10 saves in 58:58 of play, while allowing seven goals. Big Green goalie Fergus Campbell was peppered with 38 Brown shots, making 10 saves.

The Bears will play two games this week, traveling to Burlington, Vermont on Tuesday, March 23 to face Vermont, and returning home on Saturday, March 28 to host Delaware.
