The word instigating usually has a negative connotation associated with it, purporting the message that the person being described as such has ulterior motives.  In fact, this is true of Nick when seen from the perspective of our opponents.  Nick instigates an up-tempo, aggressive style of play for our program with timely breakouts and occasionally "cherry picking", exemplified by his acrobatic catch on top of the crease and goal versus Providence College.  He has a knack for handling the toughest of passes and making the dramatic catch while he bursts up-field.  In 2012 as a freshman, Nick played in every game and quickly became a trusted member of the team defense at the short-stick defensive midfielder position.  He will continue to spend the vast majority of his time on the defensive side of the ball, but we are leaning on him to become more prolific with his scoring in 2013 because he has a great first step and can shoot with velocity.  The best distance runner in the program, Nick pushes himself harder than most and he simply does not tire on the field, the street or in the weight room…2012:  Saw action in all 15 games, scoring a goal (vs. Providence) and adding two assists (vs. Quinnipiac and Princeton)…Picked-up 20 ground balls, ninth best on the Brown team…Secondary School Background:  A graduate of Episcopal High School where he lettered in lacrosse (4), soccer (3) and squash (1)…Lacrosse: Three-year starter…2011 -  Captain, Academic All-American, 2nd Team All-Met, All-State, All-IAC, 44 goals and 22 assists…2010 -  All-Met, All-State, All-IAC, 32 goals and 28 assists…Virginia State Champions in 2011, DC Under Armour team in 2010, DC Adidas team in 2009, 2010; Soccer: Two-year starter…2010- Captain, Virginia state Champions in 2008, 2009…Personal:  The son of Matthew and Katherine Weeden of Broad Run…Has a sister, Whitney…Enjoys snowboarding, golf and movies…Undecided on his concentration.
