Playing the role of a mild-mannered yet talented defenseman for the first half of the fall practice season, the staff and teammates were slack-jawed during the Catamount Classic October scrimmages as we watched James deliver multiple bone-jarring hits to opponents that knocked them flat.  We now know that he is more than just an emerging young defender who is demonstrating an early comprehension of the defensive slide packages.  Combined with his keen anticipation and intelligence for the game, James communicates well with his teammates and he does well building a bond with the final wall of the defense, his goalie.  This makes perfect sense considering he is a former ice hockey goalie and during this fall semester's conditioning and competitions, James was a stalwart keeper of the cage no matter the game being played (soccer, box lacrosse)…Secondary School Background:  A graduate of The Lawrenceville, where he lettered in lacrosse (3) and ice hockey (3)…Lacrosse (Defense) - 3-year starter…3-time New Jersey Prep A State Championships…won 3 MAPL Championships…2012 Academic All-American…2011 Champ Camp National Champions…2011 Vail Shootout U-19 All Star Team….Ice Hockey (Goalie) –3-year starter…Academic Honors and Awards - Member of Cum Laude Society…earned three consecutive years of High Honors…Recipient of Religion Department Prize and the Kinnan House Best GPA Award…Personal:  The son of Jim and Mary Lawrence…Has a twin brother, Christian, who attends Yale, and a brother, Thomas…Enjoys politics and investing…Undecided on his concentration.
