Moving into position to unleash its payload, the B-17 bombardiers were both admired and feared by the enemy.  Though not the quickest or sneakiest of bombers, the punishment the B-17’s brought was inevitable.  Johnny's movements around the lacrosse field are similarly not covert.  But when he cruises into his shooting space, our own Flying Fortress can bring the heat.  Johnny has been a vital part of our extra man unit and the team offense 6v6 schemes because he puts so much pressure on the opposing team's' goalie from the outside.  The three goals he scored in Cambridge were huge for us in an epic back-and-forth battle versus Harvard.  Now in his senior year, Johnny has played enough to be comfortable at any position or role he is asked to play for us.  On attack in the Fall scrimmages, he not only displayed his scoring aptitude but also the ability to knock down clearing passes and create goals in our riding phase.  Johnny has the power and the eye for scoring goals, providing our program a powerful weapon to stretch the opposing defense and to score from deep if he is given too much room…2012:  His 12 goals ranked fourth on the Brown team…Also added two assists…Netted three goals against Harvard and two each vs. Vermont and Providence…Picked-up six ground balls…2011: Played in 13 games and earned starting roles against St. Joseph’s and Vermont…Scored goals against Harvard, Vermont, Bryant and Providence…Also picked-up two ground balls…2010: Played in six games for the Bears…Enjoyed a big day against St. Joseph’s, scoring two goals and adding an assist…Also scored a goal against Cornell…Secondary School Background: A graduate of the Taft School where he lettered in soccer (4) and lacrosse (4), and also participated in squash and ice hockey at The Gunnery… Lacrosse team captain… US Lacrosse All-American selection… Led his team in scoring his junior and senior seasons…  Two-time Founders League All-Star… All-Western New England selection… Named to the New England Senior East/West game… US Lacrosse National Senior Showcase selection… Also was a runner up for the Stu Lindsay award for the best attack man in Western New England… Recipient of the Odden Lacrosse Award… Had 122 career points at Taft in three years… Recipient of the Senior Athletic award given to athletes with at least six varsity letters… Member of the class committee for two years and honor roll for one… Was the bass section head for the school choir and head of the school a cappella group… Personal: The son of Alan and Mary DePeters… Has two older siblings, Sarah, and Pat… Interested in economics and music… Interned in London this past summer for several insurance firms…Concentrating in Economics.
