Nick Piroli ‘15 Named Ivy League Co-Rookie of the Week
Providence, Rhode Island - Brown freshman attackman Nick Piroli (Black River, NY) made a big splash in his collegiate debut, scoring three goals in a 12-7 win over Quinnipiac to be named the Ivy league co-Rookie of the Week.
Piroli is the first Brown freshman to start on attack since Andrew Feinberg in 2008. He responded against Quinnipiac with a hat-trick, first scoring consecutive goals in the second quarter to extend Brown's lead from 4-3 to 6-3 over the Bobcats. Late in the game, when Quinnipiac made a run at the Bears, Piroli struck once again to ice the game.
Piroli came to Brown from Carthage High School where he had the reputation as a feeder, with 225 career assists, while also scoring 147 goals.
The Bears will be back in action again on Saturday, March 3, hosting #6 UMass at Meister-Kavan Field, starting at 1:00 p.m.
