It is not just his size and strength that has his teammates referring to Alex as Avatar.  He can make the exceptional athletic play, both vertically and horizontally.  And he continues to improve upon his physical prowess with solid gains in the weight room.  As a freshman, Alex focused on the defensive side of the ball and he became a threat in our transition game later in the season.  Moving forward, Alex will be asked to play more offense for Brown. The key for Alex making this step a successful one will be the development of his feeding and vision.  He has made strides this fall with his shot, accomplished through extra shooting sessions and repetitions on his own…2010: Played in all 14 games for the Bears…Finished the season with two goals and one assist…Scored goals against providence and Cornell…Also picked=up 16 ground balls for the season, including five vs. Harvard…Secondary School Background: A graduate of the Severn School where he lettered in lacrosse, basketball, and football… Lacrosse and football team captain… Recipient of the Players Award… All-Ann Arundel County… Also named a Bilderback All-Star and a MSCLA Senior All-Star… Second Team All-MIAA “A” Conference and named to the Freestate All-Star Team in 2008… Played club lacrosse for the Baltimore Elite Lacrosse Club, Severn River Lacrosse Club, and the Freestates… Also named All-County, ALL-MIAA “B” Conference and to the Baltimore Touchdown Club Senior All-Star Team in football… Served as senior prefect… Personal: The son of William Bailey Jones III, who attended Brown, and Jean Catherine Hundley… Has an older brother, William, and a younger brother, David… Enjoys reading and watching movies… Undecided on his concentration, but interested in becoming a physician.
