An emergence occurred in 2010 of a shutdown defenseman on the Brown defense:  Brennan Bailey.  He consistently took the challenge of matching up against the opponent’s best head on, using his considerable strength and footwork to keep both the quick and strong attackmen at bay.  Brennan also brings a very good stick and intelligence to the team, serving as a reliable teammate in both the clearing game and the team defensive schemes.  This rhino is now a mature adult, and he will continue to serve as a valuable member of the Brown defense.2010: One of just six players to start all 14 games for Brown’s Ivy League Champion team…Caused 10 turnovers and picked up 12 ground balls…2009: Saw action in 11 games for the Bears…Picked up ground balls against Johns Hopkins, Delaware, Vermont and Quinnipiac…Secondary School Background: A graduate of Smithtown West where he lettered in lacrosse (4) and football (2)…Team captain in lacrosse and football…Lacrosse team MVP in 2008 and All-County in 2007 and 2008…Single season school record holder for ground balls (136) and takeaways (110)… All-County and team MVP in football his senior season…Academic All-Division in football…Personal: The son of Michael and Diane Bailey…Has a sister, Megan…Enjoys movies, music, and football…Undecided on his concentration.
