For the second week in a row, Brown University freshman goalie Dan Rosen (Syosset, NY) was honored by the ECAC Hockey League, earning Goalie of the Week honors one week after being named the League's Rookie of the Week.
The nation's leading goaltender in both save percentage (.957) and goals against average (1.44), Rosen continued his strong play in the net for Brown. He stopped a career-high 39 of 41 shots in Brown's 3-2 overtime win over Yale, Brown's first overtime win since beating RPI, 4-3, on March 5, 2005 in the first round of the playoffs. Rosen made several saves from point-blank range and stopped all three shots during a 5-minute Yale power-play and then all seven during another Yale power-play in the second period. He also allowed just his third even strength goal of the year in the win, stopping all 15 shots he faced in the second period and 13 of 14 in the final 22:14.
The Bears are off for the next two-plus weeks as they break for exams and the holidays. Winners in six of their last eight games, Brown will resume action on December 29 with it faces UMass-Lowell in first-round action of the Denver Cup. The puck drops at 4:35 p.m. (MT).
