Brown University freshman goalie Dan Rosen (Syosset, NY) was named ECACHL Rookie of the Week (12/4), after helping Brown to a weekend split with St. Lawrence (4-1, W) and Clarkson (2-1, L) in a pair of ECACHL games. This marks the first time this season that Rosen has been honored as the League's Rookie of the Week.
The nation's leading goaltender in both save percentage (.958) and goals against average (1.37), Rosen continued his strong play in the net for Brown, stopping 57 of 60 shots over the weekend, while allowing just one even-strength goal, the first even-strength goal allowed in League games. For the weekend, he posted a 1.52 GAA to go along with a .950 save percentage.
In the win over St. Lawrence on Friday, Rosen allowed just one power-play goal, stopping 24 of 25 shots in handing St. Lawrence its first League loss of the year and earning 1st star honors. The next night against Clarkson, Rosen made 33 saves on 35 shots, allowing a power-play goal and an even-strength goal. He stopped 17 of 18 shots in the opening period as Clarkson outshot Brown 18-7 during the first 20 minutes.
