For the fourth time in his career, and the first time this season, Brown University junior Yann Danis (Lafontaine, QUE) was honored with an ECAC weekly award. He was named the ECAC Goalie of the Week for the week ending November 3, after picking up his fourth career shutout.
Danis led Brown to a season-opening 4-0 victory over #14 Harvard as he stopped all 30 shots he faced. With his fourth career shutout, he tied the Brown record for shutouts in a career, after tying the season shutout last season with three.
The win over Harvard also marked the first time since 1898 that Brown has shutout Harvard. Ironically the 6-0 win in 1898 was the very first meeting between the two schools in what is known as college hockey's oldest active rivalry.
A pre-season All-ECAC selection and an All-America candidate, Danis currently has a 2.34 career gaa and a .924 career save percentage, with 1031 saves.
