Tickets on Sale For Bears Quarterfinal Playoff Series at Yale

PROVIDENCE, RI - Fresh off a First Round sweep of fifth-seeded Harvard, the Brown men's ice hockey team will travel to New Haven, CT this weekend to face top-seeded Yale in the ECAC Quarterfinals. Action begins Friday night, March 13th at 7:00 p.m., with game two scheduled for Saturday, March 14th at 7:00 p.m. Game three, if needed will be played on Sunday, March 15th at 7:00 p.m. with the winner of the series slated to move onto Albany, New York for the Bank of America ECAC Championship, March 20th and 21st.

The Bears made history on multiple fronts in their First Round series at Harvard, becoming the first 12-seed to advance in the tournament since the 12-team format was introduced in 2003. Brown also became the first-ever American University to earn consecutive shutouts over Harvard in its 111-year history, as freshman Mike Clemente (Great Falls, VA) stopped all 86 shots he faced over two games, including a career-high 47 in Saturday night's win. Sophomore Harry Zolnierczyk's (Toronto, ONT) first career goal was the game-winner on Friday night, while senior Eric Slais (Fenton, MO) and junior Aaron Volpatti (Revelstoke, BC) scored the goals on Saturday night.

Tickets are now on sale for the series and can be purchased through the Brown Ticket Office by calling 401-863-2773. Tickets for adults and children are $12.00 each. Student tickets (with a valid Brown student ID) are $6.00. The Brown ticket office has a limited number of tickets available for purchase either by Visa or Mastercard at the above number. Fans can also visit the ticket office in person on the ground level of the Pizzitola Center between the hours of 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM until Thursday, March 12 to purchase tickets.

Brown is also sponsoring a fan bus for Friday and Saturday night. Advance reservations and payment are required. $10 per Brown student and $20 per person for all others per game includes game ticket, transportation, Ronzio's pizza, and Coca-Cola beverages. Brown and Yale have met six times in the ECAC Tournament, most recently in the 2002-2003 Quarterfinal round. That season, the Bears swept Princeton in the First Round and traveled to Yale for the Quarterfinals, where they won the series in three games to advance to Albany.
