PROVIDENCE, RI - The Brown men's ice hockey team will begin the 2008 ECAC Hockey playoffs this weekend when they take on Quinnipiac in a best-of-three first round series. The Bears, who have posted a .500 record in their last 10 games (5-5-0), including a 3-2-0 record in their last five, will look to advance past the first round of the playoffs for the first time since 2005, when they swept RPI in the first round, before falling to Colgate in two games in the next round. Last season, Brown was eliminated by Princeton in three games, after falling to St. Lawrence in two games the year before.
Fans can watch all the games, Friday and Saturday at 7:00, and Sunday at 7:00, if needed, live on the internet, as B2 Networks will be broadcasting all of the ECAC Playoff games. Each game is $8. Brown's Mike Rubin '00 will also be calling the action live, which is free for the audio only. Links for both can be found on the Audio & Video link off Brownbears.com.
