Junior Brent Robinson (Pointe Claire, QUE) has been named the ECAC Player of the Week, after helping to lead Brown to a weekend sweep of Princeton (4-0) and Yale (6-4) with six points, while junior Adam Saunders (Moose Jaw, SASK) earned a spot on the weekly honor roll.
Robinson, who was named the 1st Star against Yale, notched two goals and two assists against the Bulldogs in addition to two assists against the Tigers. He assisted on Brown's second and third goals as the Bears fought back from a two-goal deficit in the first period and again in the second. His first goal came on the power-play and tied the game for the second time of the evening, while his second goal, also on the power-play, was scored 9:33 later and proved to be the game-winner.
Against Princeton the night before, he assisted on the game-winner, a power-play goal, and the final goal of the game. A graduate of The Hotchkiss School, Robinson is currently tied for the team scoring lead with 16 points on five goals and 11 assists. Last season's leading scorer with 22 points, he has 46 career points on 15 goals and 31 assists.
Saunders, who became the first Brown player in four years to notch a hat trick, earned a spot on the honor roll. He scored all three goals in a row against the Tigers, doubling his season goal total. He currently leads the Bears with six goals on the season and is fourth on the team with 11 points.
The Bears have a 7-6-2 overall record with a 7-5-1 ECAC mark and are currently in second place in the ECAC with 15 points. Brown will play four straight non-league games, before heading into the final stretch of ECAC contests, beginning with a 7:00 p.m. matchup with the Harvard Crimson in Cambridge on January 31.
