For the third time this season, Brown University junior Yann Danis (Saint-Jerome, QUE) was honored as the ECAC Goaltender of the Week (1/6) after earned a 3-3 tie with UMass-Lowell with a season-high 45 saves.
Danis earned 1st Star recognition in the tie with UMass-Lowell as he stopped all 14 shots he faced in the third period and all seven he faced in overtime en route to the 45-save effort. For the game, Brown was out shot 48-18, including 7-0 in the extra period.
A pre-season All-ECAC selection and an All-America candidate, Danis also holds the Brown record for goals against average in a season (1.86) and save percentage in a season (.938). Currently, he has a 2.66 goals against average, fifth in the ECAC, and a .905 save percentage, seventh in the league.
In the midst of a five-game homestand, the Bears have a 5-6-2 overall record with a 5-5-1 mark in the league. Brown will host Princeton and Yale in a pair of crucial ECAC and Ivy League contests this weekend before taking a break from ECAC competition with five straight non-league games.
