The Brown University men's ice hockey team played its annual Brown vs. White scrimmage on Saturday afternoon, with the White team coming out on top, 3-1. Players on the White team included seniors Vince Macri, Pascal Denis, Shane Mudryk, and Nick Ringstad, juniors Gerry Burke, Mike Meech, and Chris Swon, sophomores Adam Tichauer, Joe Bauer, Cory Caouette, and freshman Steve Sigaty. Goalies senior Yann Danis and freshman Kevin Kliman split time in net for the White team.
The Brown team took a 1-0 lead with 7:28 remaining in the first of two 22:00 halves. Senior Brent Robinson, who was assisted by sophomores Mike Carthas and Rugo Santini, beat Danis to put the Brown team on top. However, the White team evened things up with 2:10 left in the half as Macri and Mudryk each assisted a goal by Caouette.
In the second half, it was all the White team. Denis collected the puck from Macri for a goal with 14:18 left and Meech intercepted a Brown team pass, scoring an unassisted goal with 9:46 left for the final 3-1.
Players on the Brown team included seniors Scott Ford and Robinson, junior Rob Kapuscinski, sophomores Dami Amurawaiye, Pete LeCain, Santini, and Carthas, and freshmen Brian Ihnacak, Antonin Roux, Sean Dersch, and Dylan Row. Goalies junior Scott Rowan and Kliman split time in net for the Brown team.
In net for the White team, Danis alllowed one goal, while stopping 10 shots in the first half and eight in 12:14 of the second half. Kliman played 9:46 for the White team, and made seven saves, while allowing zero goals. In net for the Brown team, Rowan made six saves in 12:00 of the first half, while allowing zero goals, and added 11 saves in 20:45 of the second half, while allowing two goals. Kliman played 10:00 of the first half for the Brown team and made seven saves, while allowing one goal.
The Bears continue pre-season action on Monday, October 20, when they host Bentley in a 6:15 p.m. scrimmage.
