Box Score

HANOVER, NH - Freshman Bobby Farnham (North Andover, MA) tied the game at 1-1 just 2:48 into the second period, but the Big Green erupted for four goals in the middle period, as #15 Dartmouth (10-6-0, 7-4-0) cruised to a 5-1 win over the Brown men's ice hockey team (1-10-4, 1-5-3) on Saturday evening at Thompson Arena.

Despite having to kill three penalties, Dartmouth outshot the Bears, 13-6, in the opening 20 minutes, and grabbed a 1-0 lead at the 7:28 mark on a goal by Joe Gaudet

Brown went up on the power-play with 33 seconds remaining in the period and began the second with 1:27 left on the man-advantage, but failed to convert. Just 1:21 after the power-play chance expired, Farnham tied the game at 1-1 with his second goal of the year, scored at 2:48 of the second.

The tie was short-lived however, as the Big Green regained the one-goal advantage, when Rob Pritchard beat junior Dan Rosen (Syosset, NY) at 4:40 for a 2-1 lead.

Pritchard's goal would prove to be the game-winning goal, but Dartmouth exploded for three more goals in the final 8:43 of the period, scoring twice in a span of 32 seconds to extend its lead to 5-1 heading into the final period.

The Big Green out shot Brown, 18-7, in the final period, but Rosen stopped all 18 shots for the 5-1 final.

Rosen finished the night with 42 saves, while Jody O'Neill made 21 for the Big Green. The Bears return to action next weekend when they host St. Lawrence on Friday night in a 7:00 p.m. game.
