In his three seasons with the Bears, Les Haggett has become a leader both on and off the ice and will serve as the captain this season. The center on Brown's top line last year, he finished as the third-leading scorer on the team, leading the Bears in assists. Les will again be looked upon to score timely goals and help lead the Bears' offense.
2003-2004: Missed the first three games of the season with an injury, but immediately made an impact in his first game of the year, scoring a goal and adding an assist in a 6-0 win over Yale ... Tallied 29 points in 28 games (5g, 24a), while leading the team in assists, fourth in the ECAC ... 24 of 29 points came in ECAC contests ... 2001-2002: The recipient of the Kevin R. Pope Memorial Trophy, which recognizes the first-year player who, in the eyes of his teammates, contributed most to the success of the team, Haggett was the seventh-leading scorer on the team with 6-7-13 totals, including 4-3-7 numbers in ECAC contests ... Played in 27 of 31 games, missing all four due to a shoulder injury ... Scored one power-play goal and one game-winner, while finishing with a +2 rating ... Earned his first collegiate point, with an assist against Colgate ... Scored his first career goal to get Brown on the board in the 3-2 win over St. Lawrence ... Tallied his second goal in as many games against Harvard to get Brown on the board, and added an assist for a two-point outing, earning Third Star honors ... Posted 1-1-2 numbers again at Wisconsin, assisting on a power play goal and scoring the game-winner with 2:26 left to play ... Tallied his sixth point in four games, an assist against UNH in Wisconsin; Named All-Tournament at the Bank One Badger Showdown and earned ECAC Rookie of the Week honors following that weekend ... Before Brown: Haggett played soccer, baseball, and hockey at Norwood-Norfolk Central, before attending Northwood Prep where he was a member of the hockey team. He earned first team All-Northern in grades nine through eleven while at Norwood-Norfolk, earning MVP of the NAC Section X as a junior. He helped lead his team to a Section X Championship in 1998 and earned MVP honors at Northwood in 1999. He was also named a second team All-Star as a member of the Ottawa Junior Senators of the CJHL. An All-Scholastic selection, Haggett finished his career at Norwood-Norfolk ranking third in goals (67), assists (75) and points (142), while his career points per game of 2.37 is a school record at Norwood-Norfolk. In one year at Northwood, he led the team with 50-37--87 totals and he was second on the team and sixth in the league with 83 points while with Ottawa.
