Men’s Hockey’s Gottlieb, Lafferty Earn All-Ivy Honors

PRINCETON, N.J. – Senior Sam Lafferty (Hollidaysburg, Pa.) and junior Max Gottlieb (Old Bridge, N.J.) of the Brown men's hockey team were both named Second Team All-Ivy, the league announced on Thursday.

Lafferty earned All-Ivy honors for the second straight season. The senior paced the Bears in scoring during the regular season, and also recorded a team high nine points (4-5-9) in Ivy League contests, and most recently earned ECAC Player of the Week honors after a hat trick against Harvard.

Gottlieb was selected to the All-Ivy team for the second time in his career after he previously earned second team accolades as a rookie in 2015-16. The defenseman notched two goals and five assists in Ivy League play, highlighted by a five-point weekend in a sweep over Harvard and Dartmouth, en route to NCAA Second Star honors.

The Bears open up the ECAC Tournament on Friday, March 2 when they visit seventh-seeded Princeton in a best-of-three first round matchup at 7 p.m. All three games will be played at Hobey Baker Rink in New Jersey.
