PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown men's hockey team will return to ECAC play this weekend when the Bears host No. 19 Colgate on Friday and No. 4 Cornell on Saturday. Saturday's game will also be broadcast on ESPN3. Links to live video and live stats will be available at www.brownbears.com.

Last Time Out
Brown tied No. 20 Maine on Monday night for its second straight 4-4 draw against a Hockey East opponent after a tie at New Hampshire on Saturday. Brent Beaudoin led the way with one goal and a pair of assists for a career-high three points. Tim Lappin and Tyler Bird also scored for the second straight game, while rookie defenseman Anea Ferrario notched his first career goal. Brown had nine different players record at least one point. Freshman Luke Kania made 31 stops in net.
Colgate (9-7-4, 5-2-1) beat Princeton on Saturday, 4-0, to snap a four-game losing skid. Bobby McMann is ranked ninth in the ECAC in scoring with 19 points to go along with ten goals, while John Snodgrass has a team-high 12 assists. Adam Dauda has eight goals on the season, including four on the power play, as five players on the roster have at least ten points. Colton Point is ranked second in the ECAC in both goals-against average (1.79) and save percentage (.942). Colgate is averaging 2.55 goals per game and is ranked third in the conference in scoring defense (2.25).

Friday's game will be the 88th meeting between the two teams in a series that began on March 8, 1935, a 1-0 Brown victory. Colgate leads the all-time series, 56-25-6. The two teams split the season series last year as each team won on the road.
Cornell (13-2-0, 7-1-0) heads into the weekend on a four-game winning streak and has won six of its last seven games. The Big Red swept a pair of road games against Princeton and Quinnipiac over the weekend. Trevor Yates is ranked fourth in the ECAC with 11 goals and leads the team with 17 points. Jeff Malott paces the team with ten assists as five players have multiple points. Matthew Galajda is ranked third in the ECAC in goals-against average (1.91) and fifth with a 9.19 save percentage. As a team, Cornell owns the top scoring offense in the conference at 3.67 goals per game.

Cornell leads the all-time series with Brown, which began with an 8-2 Brown win on February 21, 1959, by a 76-43-7 margin. Brown dropped both games to the Big Red last season.
Beaudoin Heating Up
Brent Beaudoin, the team's leading scorer, has 2-3-5 over the last two games in a pair of ties against New Hampshire and Maine. He posted a career-high three points against Maine and has four multiple-points games this season.
After this weekend, Brown will host RPI (1/19) and Union (1/20) to complete a five-game home stretch.
