Men’s Hockey Set to Host No. 11 Clarkson (Fri.), St. Lawrence (Sat.)

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown men's hockey team will return to Providence for a pair of ECAC home games this weekend, playing host to No. 11 Clarkson on Friday (7 PM) and St. Lawrence on Saturday (7 PM). Both games will be broadcast live on the Ivy League network. Links to live video and live stats will be available at www.brownbears.com.

Last Time Out
Brown dropped a par of ECAC and Ivy League road games at Dartmouth, 4-3, and Harvard, 3-0, last weekend. Trey Dodd and Nolan Aibel scored back-to-back goals in the second period, before Sam Lafferty trimmed the deficit to one goal with 5:04 remaining in the contest. Luke Kania made 18 saves in his first career game and defenseman Joe Maguire added a pair of assists. 

Reilly Walsh led Harvard with a pair of power-play goals the following night, although Brown kept it a one-goal game until 5:25 remaining. Gavin Nieto made 33 saves in the loss for the Bears.

Scouting Clarkson
Clarkson swept a home weekend against Rensselaer and Union last weekend. Sheldon Rempal leads all ECAC players in scoring with a 7-6-13 line through ten games. Senior defenseman Terrance Amorosa is the top assist scorer in the conference with seven helpers, while Kelly Summers and Rempal are tied for the league lead in power play scoring with six points apiece. Jake Kielly has played every game in net and is ranked second in the ECAC in both goals against average (1.50) and save percentage (.947). Clarkson owns the top defense in the conference, limiting opponents to 1.50 goals per game, and is averaging 2.70 goals per game. 

Brown vs. Clarkson All-Time
Brown and Clarkson have met 92 times, with the Golden Knights leading the all-time series, 65-19-8. Clarkson claimed both games against Brown last season. 

Scouting St. Lawrence
St. Lawrence is 1-1-1 over the last three games after starting the season with seven straight losses. The Saints most recently tied Rensselaer, 4-4, on Saturday. Jacob Pritchard leads the team with eight points and five assists, while Joe Sullivan has four goals, including three on the power play. Arthur Brey has played all ten games in net this season and enters the weekend with a 3.84 goals-against average and a .884 save percentage. SLU is ranked fifth in the ECAC on the power play, checking in at 17.8 percent, but last on the penalty kill (71.7). 

Brown vs. SLU All-Time
Brown and St. Lawrence have met 86 times, with the Saints leading the all-time series, 47-28-11. SLU captured both games last season, edging the Bears, 2-1, at Meehan Auditorium.
