PROVIDENCE, RI - Following its pair of road ties against teams ranked in the national top-10 – 5-5 at #6 New Hampshire and 4-4 at #2 Boston University, the Brown men's hockey team has moved up in the weekly polls. After receiving a vote in the November 22nd USCHO weekly poll, the Bears have received 15 this week, which puts them behind Dartmouth and in 22nd. The Bears are also still listed under "bubble teams" on the INCH power rankings.
The Bears' next three games will be huge for Brown, not only in the national landscape, but also in the ECAC. After four straight road games, the Bears return home for their final three contests of the semester, beginning with Friday's game against Union, currently ranked 13th in the polls. Brown then hosts Rensselaer, currently ranked 15th/16th, on Saturday, before hosting the 25th annual Mayor's Cup game on Tuesday evening against Providence, which had been receiving votes in last week's poll.
Currently 3-2-3 on the season and 3-1-3 in their last seven games, Brown is led by junior Jack Maclellan (Calgary, ALB), who has 13 points (4g, 9a) and ranks 5th nationally with 1.62 points per game and 4th nationally with 1.12 assists per game.
