Michael Amato `11 Named All-New England

Providence, RI - Brown University sophomore Michael Amato (Cornwall, NY) has been named to the Division I All-New England Team by the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association. Amato earned the honor by finishing in the top six at the NEIGA Championship held at the Captains Course in Brewster, Mass.

Amato shot a sizzling even-par 72 in difficult, windy conditions on the first day of play, tying for the low score of the day. He came back with 78 to finish the two-day tournament at 150.

Amato enjoyed a solid fall season for the Bears, leading the squad at the Adams Cup with a three round 233 on scores of 78-78-77. He also excelled at the Rehoboth Beach Invitational, shooting 79-760-155.
