Bears 11th After First Day of ECAC Championship

Riverhead, NY - The first day of play is in the books for the ECAC Championship played at the 6,800 yard par-71 Long Island National Golf Club, and the Brown men's golf team stands in 11th place with a two-round 635, with rounds of 320 and 315. Yale leads the tournament with a two-round 591.

Sophomore Michael Amato paced the Bears, shooting 78-79--157 on the links style Long Island National course. Following close behind is junior John Giannuzzi and senior co-captain Chris Hoffman at 158. Giannuzzi shot 78-80, while Hoffman posted 80-78.

Senior Joe Rued shot a first round 84, but rallied to shoot 78 in the afternoon for a two-round 162. Senior co-captain Conor Malloy posted 84-80--164.

The final round of the ECAC Championship will commence Saturday morning at 11:00 a.m.
