Bears Slip To 13th Place At MacDonald's Cup

New Haven, CT - The Brown men's golf team slipped back into 13th place at the 26-team MacDonald Cup played at the Yale Golf Course. After a strong first day 301, the Bears shot 313 on day two to finish at 614.
TCU captured the tournament championship with a two-day 573, followed by Yale (578), USC Upstate (591), Dartmouth (602), Seton Hall (603), Harvard (603), Drake (605), Towson (611), Rutgers (611), IUPUI (612), Sacred Heart (613), Columbia (613), Brown (614), Flagler (614), Central Connecticut (617), Binghamton (619), Lehigh (620), Princeton (620), Holy Cross (621), Oakland (622), Bryant (622), Quinnipiac (627), Mississippi Gulf Coast (634), Yale II (635), Fordham (642) and providence (665).
Bears' senior Larry Haertel, the defending New England Champion, placed ninth individually with a two-day 146, shooting 71-75. Junior Chris Hoffman placed 61st individually, shooting 75-80--155 for the Bears.
Senior Ryan Larson came in next for Brown with a two-day 157 (77-80), while sophomore John Giannuzzi was the only Brown golfer to better his first round score, shooting 84-78--162. Freshman Mark Dee completed his first collegiate tournament at 163 (78-85).
Coach Mike Harbour's team will wrap-up its fall season at the ECAC Championship, October 13-14, at the Shelter Harbor Country Club in Rhode Island.
