Brown Golfers 10th At Dartmouth Invitational

The Brown men's golf team opened its season with a 10th place finish at the Dartmouth Invitational. Bears' coach Ed Hanley's team finished with a two-day 613 (304, 309).

Yale captured the tournament with a two-day 585, followed by Army (596), Hartford (596), Boston College (598), Dartmouth (603), Binghamton (609), Central Conn. (606), Harvard (607), Columbia (610), Brown (613), Fordham (613), Quinnipiac (614), Ottowa (621), Vermont (634), Providence (649), MIT (651), Sacred Heart (663), New Hampshire (666), and Boston U. (674).

Freshman Lanny Benson (St. Louis, MO) led Bears in his collegiate debut with a two-day 151 (77, 74) to place 27th individually. Senior Jason Ricketts (Highland Village, TX) was close behind, shooting 77-75-152 to place 33rd overall.

Junior Robert Chen (Orangeburg, SC) had a fine tournament, shooting 75-80-155, while sophomore Donny Mowlds (Sacramento, CA) came in at 158 (75-83-158. Sophomore Dave Camgemi (Jacksonville, FL) also scored for the Bears with a two-day 163 (83, 80).
