Owing Mills, MD - Senior co-captain Conor Malloy shot a two round 150 to lead the Bears at the 36-hole Caves Valley Spring Intercollegiate men's golf tournament Saturday and Sunday, played at the par 71 Caves Valley Golf Club. Five other Ivy League schools joined the Bears along with Bucknell and George Washington in the eight team field.
Harvard captured the team title at 595, followed by George Washington (608), Penn (609), Princeton (612), Yale (612), Bucknell (615), Brown (619), Cornell (641) and Yale B (650).
Malloy shot a three over 74 in the opening round, followed by 76 in the second round. Sophomore Michael Amato shot 81 on day one, and came back with a sparkling 74 on the second day of play.
Junior John Giannuzzi was disqualified on day one following an unfavorable ruling, but bounced back to shoot 75 in the second round. Senior Joe Rued scored the first day of play with 77, followed by 91 on day two.
Senior Co-captain Chris Hoffman shot a two-day 162 with rounds of 82-80.
The Caves Valley Invitational was Brown's final tune-up before this week's 54-hole Ivy League Championship, Friday-Sunday, April 24-26, at the Atlantic City Country Club in Northfield, New Jersey.
