Conor Malloy Fires Even-Par 72 In First Round Of New England Division I Championship

Providence, Rhode Island - Senior co-captain Conor Malloy fired an even par 72 to help the Brown men's golf team to fourth place on day one of the New England Division I Golf Championship at the 6,522 yard, par-72 Triggs Memorial Golf Club. The Bears shot a team score of 306, just one shot out of third place and three shots out of second place.

Malloy is tied for the lead individually with Sacred Heart's Patt Fillian. Malloy shot 37-35 to car his 72, birdying three of the last five holes.

Junior John Giannuzzi came in at 77 for the Bears, 17th individually, while senior captain Chris Hoffman carded 79 to place 22nd individually.

Sophomore Michael Amato was 29th individually after shooting 79, while senior Joe Rued came in at 83 for the Bears.

Play will be completed with 18 holes on Saturday, April 11, with the Bears teeing off between 8:50 a.m. and 9:25 a.m.
