Santa Cruz, California - Brown wrapped-up its Spring Trip by finishing 18th at 63rd Annual Western Intercollegiate, held at the par 70, 6,511-yard Pasatiempo Golf Course. The Bears shot 961 (314, 328, 319) in the 54-hole tournament that was concluded on Tuesday.
Oregon captured the team title by eight shots, with a sparkling three-round 865, followed by Colorado (973), Fresno State (973), Michigan State (974), Cal (885), Oregon State (888), Denver (893), Pacific (908), Long Beach State (909), UC-Santa Barbara (910), mercer (911), San Jose State (913), St. Mary's (914), Nevada (915), Wyoming (929), Kansas (930), and Santa Clara (957).
Junior John Giannuzzi led the Bears and placed 61st individually with a three-round 234 after firing Brown's best score of the tournament, a four-over par 74 on the final day of competition. Sophomore Michael Amato shot a third-round 81 for the Bears to finish at 239 for the tournament, 73rd individually.
Senior tri-captain Chris Hoffman came in at 246 after shooting 81 on the final day, while senior co-captain Conor Malloy scored 247, shooting 83 in the third round. Senior Joe Rued came in at 253, shooting 80 in the second round of play.
The Bears will be back in action again at the New England Division I Championship, April 10-11, at the Triggs Memorial Golf Club in Providence, RI.
