Brown men's golf opened its 2017 spring season by shooting 296 in the third round of the Invitational at Savannah Harbor to finish 13th overall the 54-hole event played at the par 72, 7288-yard Club at Savannah Harbor. The 296 score was the fourth lowest team score of the third round.
William & Mary ran away with the team title by 11 shots with a 54-hole 852, followed by South Carolina Beaufort (863), Eastern Kentucky (870), Belmont (873), Bethune-Cookman (879), Austin Peay (880), Ohio (886), Butler (895), Fort Wayne (896), Northern Kentucky (907), Florida A&M (918), Brown (926) and Valparaiso (934).
Sophomore Sasha Lobel paced the Bears in each round, opening with 78, followed by a one-over 73 and finishing with a one-under par 71, for a 54-hole 222, good for 29th individually.
Freshman Kenneth Li opened with 86 and finished with scores of 75 and 74 to place 67th at 235. Bears' senior Connor Lynch shot 80-84-73--237, while junior Kevin Li came in at 78-82-78--238. Sophomore Bryan Hong shot scores of 80-84-80--244.
The Bears return to Providence and will be back in action again on March 29 at Arizona State.
