Ithaca, N.Y. – Brown's men's golf team opened its fall season with a 12th place finish at the Cornell Invitational held at the Robert Trent Jones Course at Cornell. The Bears showed improvement each round 311-305-302—918 in the 54-hole tournament.
Cornell captured its own tournament championship with rounds of 304-290-285, capturing the team title by four shots over Colgate (883). Yale and Siena placed third (884) followed by Columbia (890), Bucknell (894), Penn (900), Temple (904), Dartmouth (904), Binghamton (908), St. Bonaventure (916), Brown (918), Cornell B (938) and Canisius (943).
Junior Kevin Li paced the Bears and placed 33rd individually after shooting76-78-73—227. Close behind was freshman Kenneth Li at 229 (79-75-75) and senior Chad Carlson at 230 (77-77-76).
Senior Connor Lynch came in at232 on rounds of 79-75-78, while sophomore Bryan Hong shot 82-79-79—240.
The Bears are back in action again next week, September 24-25, at the Quechee Invitational, held at the Quechee Lake Course in Quechee, Vermont.
