Brown Finishes 9th At Yale Spring Invitational

New Haven, Ct. - Battling cool and windy conditions, the Brown men's golf team placed ninth with a team score of 622 on rounds of 316-306 at the 36-hole Yale Invitational, played at the par 70, 6810 yard Yale Golf Course.

 

The Yale "B" squad won the team title with an 11-over par 594, edging out Bucknell by one shot (595) and Yale by two strokes (597).  Yale placed fourth (597), followed by Cornell (606), Hartford (611), Villanova (617), St. John's (619), Brown (622), Fordham (624), Fairfield (627), Sacred Heart (632) and Central Connecticut (633).

 

Junior Connor Lynch placed 27th and led the Bears on rounds of 78-75—153.  Freshman Bryan Hong was 32nd individually on scores of 78-76—154.

 

Bears' sophomore Kevin Li shot a two-round 156, shooting 80-76, while junior Chad Carlson came in at 160 on rounds of 80-80.  Sophomore Sam Lafferty also scored for the Bears, shooting 83-79—162.

 

Brown will complete its season next week at the Ivy League Championship, April 22-24 at the Metedekonk National Golf Club in Jackson, New Jersey.
