Miller Helps Brown To 8th Place Finish At Navy Fall Classic

Annapolis, MD – Junior Justin Miller (Oakmont, PA) finished fifth individually to help the Brown men's golf team to an eighth place finish at the Navy Fall Invitational.  The Bears shot 303-302—605 in the 10 team tournament held at the par-71, 6530 yard US Naval Academy Golf Course.

 

Towson State ran away with the team title by 25 shots, shooting a 36-hole 554 on rounds of 280-274.  The College of Charleston placed second at 579, followed by St. Joseph's (587), North Dakota State (588), Delaware (592), Georgetown (593), Navy (594), Brown (605), Navy White (609) and Navy Gold (616).

 

Miller, coming off a strong summer, carded a three-under par 68 in the opening 18 holes and came back with 72 to finish at two-under 140 and earn the fifth place finish.

 

Senior Nelson Hargrove (Haverford, PA) shot 76-72—148 to place 18th individually, while sophomore Jack Wilson (Fairmont, CA) placed 46th with a 36-hole 158 (77-81).

 

Freshman Connor Lynch (Bradenton, FL) finished at 159 on rounds of 82-77, while freshman Chad Carlson (Overland Park, KS) shot 84-81—165.

 

Coach Mike Hughes' team will be back in action again at the Hartford Hawk Invitational, September 23-24, at the Bulls Bridge (CT) Golf Course.
