Bears Place 6th At The Century Invitational

Purchase, New York - Brown placed sixth at the Century Invitational with a two-round 628, battling rain and wind on Sunday, in the tournament played at the par-71, 6,925 yard Century Club.  Freshman Justin Miller led the Bears with a sparkling 36-hole score of 148.

 

Rhode Island took home the championship trophy with a 36-hole 600, six shots ahead of second place Harvard (606).  Princeton placed third (617), followed by Dartmouth (624), Yale (625), Brown (628), Cornell (631), Temple (633) and Yale II (661).

 

A first year player from Oakmont, PA, Miller placed fourth individually on rounds of 76-72.  He posted a one-over par 72 on Sunday, the second lowest score of the day in the inclement conditions.

 

Junior Nelson Hargrove, who joined the Bears in the second semester, place 12th individually on rounds of 78-77—155.  Junior captain JD Ardell was Brown's third leading scorer, shooting 79-82—161.

 

Sophomore Peter Callas came in at 167 on round of 82-85, while freshman Jonathan Greb posted 79-88—167.

 

Brown will conclude its season at the Ivy League Championship, April 27-29, at the Galloway National Golf Club in Absecon, New Jersey.
