Providence, R.I - Senior quarterback Michael Dougherty (Davie, FL) has been named the Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season for his dominating performance in Brown's 45-16 Ivy win over Dartmouth. The victory will enable first place Brown (5-1 Ivy) to play for the Ivy League title at home on Saturday (11/22) against Columbia.
Dougherty compiled 311 yards in total offense in just three quarters of play, exiting the game after building a 45-10 lead. He passed for two touchdowns (21 and 25 yards), ran for another touchdown on a 69-yard run (73 yards for the day), completed 16 of 22 passes, and threw for 238 yards, including 213 passing yards in the first half alone.
Dougherty moved into 13th place in Ivy League career passing with 5,502 yards, and now ranks 10th in Ivy League history with 469 career completions. He currently ranks 13th in the nation in completions, 11th in passing yards, and 10th total offense.
A win over Columbia at home on Saturday will assure the Bears at least a share of the Ivy League Championship. Game time is 12:30 p.m. at Brown Stadium.
