Hartigan and Turner Named To District I Academic All-America Team

Providence, Rhode Island - Brown senior running back Nick Hartigan (Fairfax Station, VA) and senior tight end David Turner (Cincinnati, OH) have been named to the CoSida/ESPN The Magazine District I Academic All-America Team. Both Hartigan and Turner will advance to the national Academic All-America ballot.
Turner, a second team All-Ivy selection a year ago, has made 18 catches for 171 yards and a touchdown for the Bears, who are currently in first place in the Ivy League standings with a 4-1 Ivy record, 7-1 overall. He caught the game-winning touchdown against Princeton this season, and is averaging 9.5 yards per reception. Last year, Turner made 25 catches for 339 yards and three touchdowns. Turner has posted a 3.35 GPA, majoring in Mechanical Engineering.
Hartigan, a finalist for the Walter Payton Award as the nation's top offensive player, currently leads the nation in rushing with 163.1 yards per game and in scoring with 12.0 points per game. He has already earned a prestigious National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete Award, and is a finalist for the Draddy Award, considered the "Academic Heisman," as the National Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Hartigan is a five-time Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week in 2005, and has established Brown career records for rushing (4,070 yards), rushing touchdowns (47), and points (294). He has compiled a 3.91 GPA in Political Science and History.
