Nov. 10, 2003

Brown sophomore wide receiver Lonnie Hill (Salem, MA) was the big play maker in Brown's 55-44 win over Yale on Saturday, and was rewarded by being named the Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week and the New England Football Writers Gold Helmet Award winner.

Hill caught 13 passes for 183 yards against Yale, and tied a Brown record with four touchdown receptions, including spectacular 17-yard game-winning touchdown catch with 26 seconds where he reached over the Yale defender in the end zone and made a one handed catch, giving Brown a 48-44 lead over the Elis. Hill, who ranks 3rd nationally in receptions with 8.00 receptions per game, also caught touchdown passes of 9, 27 and 18 yards, and had a long reception of 33 yards.

Hill's four touchdown receptions equal the all-time Brown mark held by Steve Campbell against Penn in 1999. Hill also moved into 8th place in Brown single season pass receptions with 64 catches and ranks ninth in single season receiving yards with 732 yards.
