Brandon Markey Named Ivy League Special Teams Player of the Week

Providence, RI - Brown senior tri-captain Brandon Markey (Seattle, WA) has been named the Ivy League Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance against Yale last Saturday. Markey, a kick return specialist and running back for the Bears, electrified the Brown crowd with a 95-yard kickoff return for a touchdown against the Elis.
Markey's 95-yard kickoff return was the seventh longest kickoff return in Brown football history and the second of his Brown career. Markey also ran the ball for the Bears, rushing for a team high 82 yards on 12 carries. He currently ranks 25th nationally in kickoff return yards with 24.1 yards per return.
Markey also returns punts for the Bears and has amassed 535 career punt return yards, just 90 yards short of the ball-time Brown record.
The Bears will be back in action again on Saturday, November 11th against Dartmouth in Hanover, New Hampshire.
