Jessie Hawkins Named Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week

Providence, RI - Brown defensive end Jessie Hawkins (Ojai, CA) was named the Ivy League's defensive Player of the Week for his outstanding play in Brown's tough 24-21 loss to 11th-ranked Penn on Saturday.

Hawkins was a thorn in the side of the Penn offensive line, getting to quarterback Quakers' Mike Mitchell three times for sacks, and once stripping the ball from Mitchell that was recovered by the Bears. Overall, Hawkins had four tackles for a loss of 21 yards, including the three quarterback sacks. He also had seven tackles (5 solo and two assists).

Hawkins and the Brown football team will be back in action on Saturday, November 8th against Yale in New Haven, CT.
