DiGiacomo and Morgan Named Ivy League Players of the Week

Providence, RI - Brown senior quarterback Joseph DiGiacomo (Doylestown, PA) was named the Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week and junior kicker Steve Morgan (New Albany, OH) was named the Ivy League Special Teams Player of the Week for their roles in Brown's 30-27 overtime victory over Penn.
DiGiacomo came up big when the game was on the line for the Bears, completed 27 of 49 passes for 340 yards and two touchdowns. He threw touchdown passes of 44 yards to Paul Raymond and 13-yards to Lonnie Hill to tie the game, 27-27, with 3:52 left to play. DiGiacomo orchestrated scoring drives of 93, 82 and 80 yards for the Bears' three touchdowns.
Morgan connected on the game-winning 25-yard field goal in overtime to send the Quakers to their second straight overtime loss. Morgan, who holds the Ivy League record for kick scoring in a season, connected on 3 of 3 field goals for the day (36, 25, 25), punted five times for a 198 yards (39.6 yards per punt), and kicked-off four times for the Bears (235 yards).
The defending Ivy League Champion Brown team (3-4 overall, 2-2 Ivy) will be back in action on Saturday at home in a key Ivy League match-up with Yale. The game is scheduled to start at 12:00 noon at Brown Stadium, and will be televised live on the YES Network.
