UWA AIRHIAVBERE NAMED IVY LEAGUE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Brown University senior defensive end Uwa Airhiavbere (McLean, VA) turned in a dominating performance in Brown's 35-23 victory over Princeton on Saturday and was named the Ivy League's Defensive Player of the Week. The Bears are now 2-2 overall and 1-1 in the Ivy League.
Airhiavbere made eight tackles overall and harassed Princeton quarterback Dave Splithoff all day, registering three sacks for a loss of 26 yards, while also making another tackle for a loss.
An honorable mention All-Ivy selection last year after making 42 total tackles, the Benin City, Nigeria native has five sacks to lead this year's team. Airhiavbere, who attended McLean High School in Virginia, was second on the 2000 squad with 12 tackles for a loss of 50 yards.
