Providence, RI - The Brown University Athletic Department has announced a multi-sport fall television package that encompasses the broadcast of Brown football and men's soccer games, telecast on Cox-3, the Football Network and the Yes Network.
"We are extremely pleased to be entering a season-long relationship with Cox Communications covering a myriad of our sports at Brown," said Brown Athletic Director David Roach. "It's a great opportunity for our student-athletes to be showcased within the ever-expanding Cox coverage area. The coverage with Cox will expand to the winter with several of our men's and women's basketball, and men's and women's ice hockey games appearing live on Cox."
The television package with Cox Communications begins on September 14th when coach Mike Noonan's Brown men's soccer team takes on Wisconsin in the adidas-Brown Soccer Classic at 1:30 p.m. Adrian Healey, the play-by-play voice of the New England Revolution, will call the action, and Mike Rubin, the radio voice of Brown soccer, will provide the color commentary.
Cox-3 will telecast two Brown football games, starting with Brown's October 4th match-up with inter-state rival Rhode Island for the Governor's Cup. Coach Phil Estes' football team will also be featured on Cox-3 November 1 against Ivy League rival Penn.
Brown's September 27 football game at Harvard will be telecast nationally on the Football Network from Cambridge, Mass. The YES Network will nationally air the Brown vs. Princeton football game on October 18 at Brown Stadium.
