Markey's One Yard Run With Five Seconds Left Lifts White Team To 16-13 Win Over Brown In Spring Game

Providence, RI - Brandon Markey's `07 one yard run with five seconds left gave the White team a 16-13 win in the annual Brown Spring Football game. Running back Nick Hartigan `06 gave the Brown team a 10-0 lead with 13:05 left to play in the second quarter with a 45-yard touchdown run. The White team then went on to even the score by halftime with a field goal and a five-yard touchdown pass from Joe DiGiacomo `07 to David Turner `06.

Derrick Knight '08 helped set up a 27 yard field goal by Steve Morgan `08 after bulldozing his way 35 yards down field on five straight rushing plays for the Brown team. The field goal was Morgan's second 27 yarder of the game as he gave the Brown team a 13-10 advantage with three minutes left to play on the kick.

With just three minutes remaining and 80 yards to cover, DiGiacomo helped storm the White team down field, completing four of six passes, including a big 33-yard play to Turner with less then ten seconds showing on the clock. Markey then dove high over the pile at the end zone, lifting the White team to a thrilling victory.
