Former Brown University wide receiver Chas Gessner '03 just completed his first season with the New England Patriots and their magical ride to the Super Bowl Championship.
Gessner originally signed with the Patriots as a free agent and immediately impressed coach Bill Belicheck with his receiving prowess. A pre-season injury lingured through the early part of the season, where he spent time on the physically unable to perform list.
The Patriots thought enough of Gessner to place him on the active roster for a game, and later to the practice squad. Gessner traveled with the Patriots to Houston for the Super Bowl where he practiced with the team and took part in all the Super Bowl festivities.
