Bears Drop 31-7 Decision To Penn

Philadelphia, PA - Penn opened a 21-0 second quarter lead and coasted to a 31-7 Ivy League victory over Brown at Franklin Field.

Brown's lone score came when junior quarterback Nate Poole connected on a 4 yard touchdown pass to senior Ian Malapeai with 18 seconds left in the half to cut Penn's lead to 21-7.

Overall, Poole connected on 27 of 41 passes for 185 yards. Junior Kyle Slageg hit on 9 of 12 passes for 66 yards.

All-American wide receiver Chas Gessner caught 9 passes for 76 yards, while Malapeai also caught 9 passes.

Defensively, senior Jeremiah Watts made 10 tackles and forced a fumble. Senior linebacker Joel Barone made 7 tackles and recovered a fumble.
