PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Kris Ryan ran for 189 yards and two touchdowns and caught a touchdown pass Saturday to power Penn to a 27-14 victory over Brown.
The Quakers (6-0, 4-0 Ivy League), with the top ranked defense against the run in NCAA Division I-AA, held Brown to minus 26 yards rushing.
Penn broke a 14-14 tie when Ryan dashed two yards up the middle for a touchdown early in the fourth quarter.
After an exchange of turnovers, Ryan ran for 37 yards to the Brown 6-yard line. Two plays later, Penn clinched its 10th consecutive victory dating to last season when Ryan scored on a 3-yard run with 1:59 remaining.
The Bears (3-3, 2-2) scored on their first possession when Michael Malan ran in from the 1-yard line.
Penn countered with a 71-yard drive that ended with Gavin Hoffman throwing a 9-yard touchdown pass to Jonathan Robinson. Hoffman, 18-for-25 for 235 yards, tossed a short pass to Ryan who broke it 51 yards for a touchdown late in the second quarter for a 14-7 halftime lead.
Brown tied the game 14-14 on a 1-yard TD pass from Kyle Rowley to Chas Gessner with 5:15 left in the third quarter.
Rowley completed on 23 of 47 passes for 312 yards.
