  • Bears Host Princeton In Return To Ivy League Action

    Brown completed its non-league schedule with a 2-1 record and returns to Ivy League action for the remainder of the season, starting with Saturday's game against the Princeton Tigers at Brown Stadium, starting at 12:30 p.m. Both teams are looking for their first Ivy League victory in Saturday's Homecoming/Family Weekend match-up on the East Side, with expectations of getting back into the race for the Ivy title.

    On Monday, October 16, Brown Football will host the 13th annual Bench Press for Cancer on Brown's Main Campus Green. This event was created in 2004 to help former team captain Lawrence Rubida '05 and his family pay for the medical bills associated with his battle against Ewing's Sarcoma.  Despite Lawrence's passing, his former teammates and those that have followed have lived by his credo "never quit."

    With temperatures hovering around 90-degrees and a feel-like temperature of 100 at kick-off, Stetson earned its first win of the season with a 17-13 win over Brown Saturday afternoon at Spec Martin Memorial Stadium.

    Brown football will be jetting off to Deland, Florida to face Stetson on Saturday, October 7. It's the first flight for the Bears since traveling to Washington, DC in 2014 to open the season against Georgetown. All the action kicks-off at 12:30pm at Spec Martin Memorial Stadium in a game televised on ESPN3.

    Brown rallied to score 21 unanswered points in the third quarter to earn a 24-21 come-from-behind victory over Rhode Island in the 102nd Governor’s Cup football game on Saturday night at Brown Stadium.  Rhode Island Governor Gina Raimondo presented the cup to an effusive Brown team at midfield at the completion of the game.

    Brown and URI are set to battle for the 102nd Governor's Cup on Saturday night at Brown Stadium, starting at 7:00 pm. The Governor’s Cup has a history of playing under the lights at Brown Stadium, with the previous three meetings on the East Side having been played at night. It’s the place to be for the Ocean State’s chief executive, with Rhode Island Governor Gina Raimondo on hand tonight to present the Governor’s Cup at the completion of the game. Follow all the action on the Ivy League Network and on WPRV Am790, with Scott Cordischi calling the play and John Anderson P'11 providing the analysis.

  • Brown Football Opens Its 140th Season At Home vs. Bryant

    Brown’s 140th season of intercollegiate football kicks-off on Saturday, September 16 against Bryant at Brown Stadium in coach Phil Estes’ 20th season at the helm. Estes has coached the Bears to three Ivy League titles and finished in the top half of the Ivy League in 16 of his 19 seasons. Phil’s 112 career wins (112-77) are 10th in Ivy League history, while his 76 career Ivy wins are the most ever at Brown and sixth in the Ivy record book. There will also be a familiar face on the opposing sideline - former Ivy League Player of the Year James Perry ’00, who led the Bears to the Ivy title in 1999. His banner is hanging under the home grandstand at Brown Stadium.

    Brown head football coach Phil Estes has announced the 30-member Class of 2021, who will matriculate on College Hill in the fall. The class included six defensive linemen, five defensive backs, five inside linebackers, four offensive linemen, three wide receivers, two running backs, two quarterbacks, two outside linebackers and one tight end. This outstanding group represents incoming student-athletes from 15 different states, who have won a wide array of honors and awards.
